End of school last year! Wow...I am far behind! Better late than never!

I love this picture of Talon! It was decade day at his school and the kids could dress up from any decade they wanted. Talon chose the 80's. Love the rocker look!
Throughout the year the kids in his Spectrum program learned a whole variety of dances. On this particular dance they boys got to ask the girls to dance. I think this is the cutest picture ever! It is kind of a flash forward into the future though...holy cow, I'm not ready for the kids to go to dances. This sweet little girl had been Talon's dance partner when learning the dances, so he chose her. He switched cloths with and older student. They both loved their new look for the 2nd half of the day.
Keaton at his 6th grade performance. He is lined up with all of his buddies on the back row. His other buddy is below watching them....none of them were to happy to sing and perform. they all had funny little smirks on their faces. They also didn't know how to handle all the girls that were crying and emotional during the program since they were finishing 6th grade. Boys are just so different. They crack me up.
Couldn't be any prouder! Keaton is such an awesome student. We were told that he would be receiving an award during the program. We didn't know what for, either did he. He was in the last group to receive awards. The principal had about 12-15 students come forward....they along with Keaton received a gold presidential award for having the top grades every year in elementary school. Way to go bud!

Fun surprise B-day party for Dan's b-day

This year for my awesome step-dads b day and fathers day gift, I surprised him and my two little ones with a fun train day. It is the neatest place not far from where we live. I have always wanted to go but the timing was never right (they are open random dates throughout the summer). It was so fun! I can't wait to go back next year.

Talon's Talk about the Book of Mormon

Talon was asked to give a talk in Primary last month. He is such a smart little guy. He wrote the below talk all on his own. This month he was asked to give the same talk for the Primary program. We had so many people come up to us and express how well he did. What a great boy we have! I am so proud of him for reading/finishing the Book of Mormon. For an 9 year old boy that is pretty awesome!

Talon: Book of Mormon talk
This summer Sister Pirtle challenged my primary class to read the Book of Mormon. She told us that she would give us a treat for reading it once we finished.
My choice of candy was Jelly Belly jelly beans! At first, all I could think of was those great jelly beans. I was really excited to earn my treats!
When I first started reading the Book of Mormon it was hard to understand. Some of the words were kind of confusing. But, the more I read the easier it was to understand, and I started thinking more about the book and less about the candy.
I like to read a lot, it is really fun. I didn’t know the Book of Mormon would be so fun to read! I learned a lot and I am glad that I did the challenge. I was able to finish the Book of Mormon in only a few weeks.
When I finished the Book of Mormon I wasn’t even thinking about my treat. One evening, sister Pirtle brought the treat to my house. The jelly beans were so yummy, I ate them really fast but now they are gone and I won’t get them back but everything I have read in the Book of Mormon I will have forever and it has made primary easier for me to understand.
I am very thankful for the Book of Mormon.

I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen
