Dec 9th, 2009 Keaton turned 9

Keaton turned 9 on the 9th of December. We ended up having a small little family party for him. We had a fun birthday party lined up for him but found out that almost all the kiddo's had things going on and wouldn't be able to make it. :( In the morning I made the famous "age" pancake for him. We had fun singing him happy birthday.

Keaton is such a great boy. He is a joy to have in our family.

Ogden Temple - Nothing could top today!

Wow! Where do I even begin? We had such a great day today. My family and I have waited soooooooo soooooooo long for this day! Today we had the wonderful opportunity to be sealed in the Ogden Utah Temple. I can't even put into words how special our day was.

The boys were so handsome and taking everything in. I am so blessed to have such a great family. I will cherish this day always. Nothing could top today!

Ever wonder..........

The other day I woke up to a bathroom covered in toothpaste. The middle guy decided to see how much toothpaste is in a tube. He said he started out with it in the sink and then when it turned into a mess he tried to clean it up (with the hand towel) and it made a bigger mess. It was on the vanity, faucet, light switch, door knob, and mirror. Loved cleaning that one up......it was nice and crusty when I found it! UGH!
So if you ever wonder how much tooth paste is actually in a tube IT'S A LOT!!!

Economics Fair

All the 3rd graders at Keaton's school will be taking part in an Economics fair next month. They had to come up with a product, slogan, and a catch phrase. This is what Keaton came up with. Magnificent Magnets. Over the next couple of weeks he needs to make enough to sell to 25-30 people.
Keaton always works hard at school and goes the extra mile. What a good kid!!

Wolf

Tonight was an exciting night for Keaton. He has been working hard in Scouts to become a Wolf. I am so proud of his time and effort that he put in to earn it. He also earned his gold arrow point and 5 silver arrow points. Way to go buddy : ) Love you!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

The kids were so excited the other day when they looked out side and saw snow falling. They wanted to bundle up and head right out!!!!
Looking pretty warm : )
They had such a great time!

A great D.I. treasure

I love when I find a nice little treasure and D.I. had a good one for me recently : ) Here is the before. You can't tell in this picture but it had layers of lumpy icky paint on it. I loved the design of it though and could see the potential it had.

It took a lot of sanding (luckily I have power sander, that helps a lot). I am sure that my neighbors were going nuts with the noise.
Here it is almost done.

I gave it the distressed look which I like but I think I am going to put red on the distressed part and give it one last coat of black spray to match my furniture upstairs.

I will post the final picture once I get around to finishing it. It could be awhile since it's cold outside now.

From this to..........this!

So we've had this little site for sore eyes hanging out in our basement for awhile just waiting for me to beautify her. Well I was feeling crafty one day and went to work. Here is the before. Ohhhhhh purdy isn't she UGH!
Here is a drawer with such a lovely handle. Ick!Here is the after.................oh much better!

All she needed was a little sanding, some silver spray paint for the handles and black for the rest.
Why oh why didn't I take the time to do this sooner?

Let the battle begin............

Recently I was watching my little nephew Liam. He brought along his new light saber that he got for his 2nd B-day. Carter was so excited that he went downstairs and got one of his brothers light sabers and the two little cuties battled it out. They were so funny with the hats that they were wearing.....if they weren't on just how they wanted them they would stop the battle adjust the hat and then carry on again. Cute little munchkins aren't they : ) Love em!!!!!

It's been awhile!

I guess I have been a slacker for awhile so here I am jumping in again! Enjoy : )

Carter turned 2 yesterday!!!

Yesterday Carter turned 2. He had fun day. This is a look at some of the highlights. I have the pictures backwards....UGH!!! But, I am to tired to put them in the correct order so you'll just have to bare with me here.

Ok, here he is opening his last gift and all the boys playing with the new toys. Grandpa Nelson stopped by after work. Carter was so happy to see him. He kept saying "Gampa I ov o" (Grandpa I love you). It was the cutest thing.

Here he is opening a gift that the boys bought him with their own money. It is a bunch of dinosaurs and a tree. He thought it was so cool. Then he opened one that was from all of us. It is a cool fire truck. He was super excited when he saw it. He has been grovin' on the fact that he has his "own" toys now.
This is the yummy fruit pizza that I made. The boys put a "2" candle on it which was a highlight. We sang Happy Birthday and he was so happy!!

He looked so cute eating his slice. : )

First thing in the morning he was able to get his first gift. It was a baby. He was thrilled. (All of my boys liked babies at this age??? Cute!) And last but really first in his day was a "2" pancake. He had that best time blowing out the candle.

Fun bibs!

Yesterday my little sis gave Carter a cute bib for his B-day. I just love it. Well.........I decided that I could craft them up if I tried. So, today I bought some supplies and then tinkered around with some paper towels to make a pattern. Here is the one that he got for his B-day.

And...........here is one that I made today. Don't you just love it!
And.........here are the others that I made. They are made out of washcloths and bias tape. (I didn't remember that it had bias tape on it while at the store so I just made my own with some fabric that I had).

I am so excited for these. I can never seem to find a bib that works well and washes well. Towels hold up forever so yeah...............I am just thrilled : )

Here is my mom for ya, what can I say? That's my mom!!!! Gotta love her : )

Here are pictures of 2 of my sisters. Oh I just love the one of myself.....so glad that they captured me at me best.........Ugh! Lovely!
It was a nice little get away with the ladies. I don't think I need to go back to Vegas anytime soon though.

Only Kids Aloud!

This picture goes along with the next post. I forgot to include it. You can't tell what it says to well from the picture but it says.............Only kids aloud! p.s. and baby's , dogs to. It is on front of the fort that the boys made today.

Fun times with the big guys........

Last night the boys and I had a little camp out in the back yard. The boys were excited to put up the tent (I hardly had to help them). We all stayed nice and cozy cuz it's a bitty tent! It was fun though. We made smores, talked, read a Magic Tree house book, and...............

lit some sparklers! The boys loved this part.

I guess the kids didn't have enough tent time. Once we cleaned everthing up in the morning they wanted to built a fort in the house.

They can spend hours this way.........

Kindergarten here he comes................

Wow, I can't believe that Monday my little Talon will be starting kindergarten! How can that be? Time just races by doesn't it! My goodness!
He keeps telling us that he doesn't want to start school this year because he wants to be in 1st grade not kindergarten. Funny kid!

Talon's 5th B-day

These are a bit late because I have been a blog slacker and................a busy mom! Anyway....here is a picture from Talon's 5th B-day. He wanted to repeat his party from last year. We went to the Splash Pad in Ogden. He only wanted his Nana, Aunts, and cousins to attend. He chose the same party favors and all. What a cute little bugger : ) We stayed over 6 hours because they all were having so much fun : )
Ok this part was different from last year. I made these cute little hamburger cupcakes (my friend recently made some for a scout party and I couldn't resist making them for his party). They are just the cutest.....don't you think!?!
Here's how you make them: Yellow cup cakes, cut them in half. Brownie cut in a circle (I used a cup) Yellow and red frosting for the ketsup and mustard. Sesame seeds on top. (once assembled just wet the top lightly with water and sprinkle the seeds on top. So easy and soooooooo super cute!

Oh, so proud!

Carter has been trying to dress himself a lot lately. Sometimes he does great, other times he ends up like this! (hey at least he's trying)

How cute!
Legs out the neck hole.....too funny!

Slip and Slide fun!

Last week the boys had a great time playing on their slip-n-slide. Carter was so cute trying to drink the little streams of water. Keaton had a great time seeing how far he could slide past the end and Talon loved twisting on the way down. I had a great time watching them play : )
I put the slide on the dry spot of the lawn so it could get an extra soak while they were playing.

Cute little guys : )

Carter drinking from a little water stream. Love it!
