Our litte sweet heart!

Carter has been the easiest little guy to raise. He is such a joy to have in our family. Every day I am amazed at how much he can do for his age and how well I am able to understand him. He has always been a great sleeper which is the best blessing any mom could ever ask for! At night and at nap time when I put him to bed he rolls over and says good night mom, I love you! That's it....no cries, no asking to get out of bed, and he just goes to sleep. So sweet!

When I look at this picture he looks like such a big boy, I am happy for this new stage in his life but I am already missing him as a baby :( I am so thankful for this little guy in my life! Carter mommy loves you!

Keaton's research project.

Over the holiday weekend Keaton was hard at work. He was able to finish his diorama about Southern Stingrays. I was a bit nervous when I found out what topic he chose but all went well and things have turned out excellent. He is a very creative boy and I had fun helping him with his vision. He also worked on an outline for his report and is ahead of schedule which I also love about him. He gets things done and doesn't complain about doing it. Maybe it is the excitement that his teacher brings, maybe a combination of his personality. Here is a look at his finished Southern Stingray diorama. So awesome!

Hiccups and Carter wearing his new Christmas robe.

Carter received his robe for Christmas but didn't want anything to do with it. The other day he said "Mommy want robe on". We were all shocked! Once it was on he decided that singing would be a fun thing to do.....he recruited his brother to sing along with him. Talon had the hiccups so he sounded pretty silly. Every time the boys watch this they crack up over Talon :)

Salmon Christmas Party 2009

Yep, I am still playing catch up on my posting from 2009. This is our crowd at the Salmon Christmas party. (We are minus Melissa and Martin) At this moment in time we were trying to capture all of the grownups. Keaton took the picture for us. We once were a small little family with only 5 grand kids but now we have grown and have kiddo's of our own (that picture will be next!) Grandpa and Grandma Salmon do a great job at keeping a few parties on the calendar each year to keep us all together.
Back row: Uncle Brent, cousin Lori, and Jeff (Lori's fiance)
Standing: Grandpa, Grandma, Dad, Aunt Linda, sister Stacey, Cute hubbie of mine Rick, Me, Bro. in law Garrett.
Seated: Sis Amber, Bro. in law John Here are all the kiddo's: Zander 7, Emma 4, Carter 2, Keaton 9, Maylee 9, Liam 2, Elliott 6, and Talon 5. We are missing Caden who is 4. He was in a mood and didn't want anything to do with having his picture taken. He is a cute little bugger though.

Christmas Eve 2009

Well my posts are a bit out of order. Oh well, they are posted :)
A look at our tree on Christmas Eve. The boys wrapped presents that they were giving to Rick and I. Rick even wrapped some this year. I was a slacker and didn't wrap anything until Christmas Eve day. My shopping was done months ahead of time for the boys....I don't know why I waited to long to wrap them. I just love how pretty Christmas trees are.

Keaton made Rick and I a neat Night Before Christmas book. We all took the time to read through it. He did a great job with the illustrations. I look forward to bringing it out each year to read.
One of our traditions is to have Rick read his Night Before Christmas book from his childhood. The boys just love this part of Christmas Eve.
Ok, before all of the above happened the boys made some yummy sugar cookies for Santa. They had a lot of fun decorating them. They turned out so yummy! The did a great job.
Here is a picture of one of my all time favorite traditions. We all get new jammies for Christmas Eve. What cute boys! Talon is our poser :)
Merry Christmas from us!

Nelson Chritmas party

These pictures are a bit out of order but hey at least I am getting around to posting them.
Rick and John decided that they would be extra cozy for the night. They were the observers : ) Later in the evening they were still found in the same spot watching football.
Keaton played the piano and Maylee sang along. It was priceless!
Talon was sooooooooooooo excited to get a metal bat, some balls, and some bubble gum from his Grandpa and Nanna. (they are worried that it might be used as a weapon but that is what he wanted. He has been told to take caution when using it).

They gave Carter some Bristle blocks and some super cute pirate pajama's that I will need to post at a later time. The blocks have been a great hit since them with all of my boys.

Carter and Liam are so stinkin' cute. The two of them are best cousins/buddies. The both like to dress up and play with swords and guns.

My sister Stacey read a fun Christmas book to the kids. (Melissa also read to them).

I brought some bells for all of the kids to ring while singing Jingle Bells. The loved it. We all got a kick out of watching them. Emma (front) was belting out the words and doing a little jig : )
Keaton was given Speed Stacks. He was so excited he could hardly handle himself. He has wanted them for months. His teacher sent home an order form and he kept asking if we could please order some. (I ordered them for my parents to give to him but he had no idea). He was so sad when it was the last day to turn in the order form and he wasn't turning it in. It was such and unexpected surprise for him! We enjoyed watching his reaction.

Here is my beautiful mom. My sisters and I all pooled our money and bought her a pearl necklace and earring set. I think she was pretty happy about her gift. She loves pearls (she accidentally flushed a previous strand of pearls down the toilet).
We had a Chinese potluck night. It turned out great, so yummy!
Well that was our family party in a nutshell. I wish I had pictures of everyone :)

Talon's Winter Sing and 100% paper

Talon is a Kindergartner at Challeger this year. He has such a fun time going to school. He has made some great friends and just adores his teacher Mrs. Wagstaff. We are happy for the small class size and the wonderful way they have of teaching.
Below is a picture of Talon getting set for his Winter Sing. He was so excited that when he got to school his teacher had scarves for all of them to wear :)
Talon is the 2nd from the right. He is singing his little heart out!

Here he is singing "If Santa Was A Cowboy". I wish I had video of this one. They were all shakin' it and doing some cute moves during some of it.

Daddy is holding Talon up by his composition paper that he did so well on that it was put in the outside hall with all of the "Above and Beyond work".

This is something the teacher gives them a thought to write about and then they go from that point on their own. He wrote about having fast shoes.

We are so proud of Talon. He is a great student!
